COVID-19 Business Continuity Plan
03-17-2020
As the impact of Coronavirus (COVID-19) has become clear, Allegiant Care has implemented a business continuity plan (BCP) that protects the safety of our staff and will enable us to provide uninterrupted service to our members and partners in the face of anticipated COVID-19 disruptions.
Allegiant Care created a response team comprised of technical and operational staff who are responsible for updating and executing our BCP as new COVID-19 information warrants. We have developed a contingency workflow model that enables staff to maintain connectivity to the systems and resources necessary for us to conduct business as usual should a COVID-19 disruption or quarantine occur.
Access to Health Benefits for our Members
While Allegiant Care provides its members with a single point of contact for eligibility, enrollment and health benefits, we also partner with multiple third-party vendors, including CIGNA, Anthem and OptumRx, for claims processing, claims resolution, precertification, access to provider networks and additional member services support as needed. Allegiant Care has confirmed that all critical vendors have enacted their BCPs and are prepared to address and support the current environment.
Steps to Minimize Transmission of the Virus
Allegiant Care has enacted the following protective measures to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19:
- Monitoring the COVID-19 situation closely and adhering to recommendations from the WHO, CDC and other health organizations
- Requiring employees with symptoms that could indicate contagious illness to stay home
- Implementing a work-from-home policy if needed
- Temporary suspension of all non-essential business travel
